Feedback

Carl Ward Feedback Form

Focus:

Music Video Analysis
Strengths:

Explanation/Analysis/Argument –  You are beginning to explain – ‘This is one of the only parts of the video where it doesn’t focus on the singer’s face, meaning that this bit of the video could be more about what his character has done, rather than what the actor is doing.’

Use of examples –. You have thought about narrative theory.

Use of terminology – You have mentioned some camera angles such as medium shot etc.

Areas for improvement:

Explanation/Analysis/Argument – You need to analyse not explain. Everything is there for a reason. What is the effect on the audience? How does the director want the audience to feel? How has he done this?

Use of examples – You need to explicitly refer to Goodwin’s theory.

Use of terminology – You need to consistently use appropriate media terminology.
Resulting Actions  (student response):

-          In future, refer to Goodwin’s theory and use correct media terminology
